We are currently working with a well established and growing groundworks contractor who are looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to support their commercial and preconstruction team based in Hampshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with groundworks experience who is looking to develop their estimating career within a stable business that delivers high quality residential and commercial projects.
The Role: - Assisting with the preparation of tenders for groundworks packages
- Measuring quantities from drawings and specifications
- Supporting senior estimators with pricing, take-offs, and enquiries
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
- Helping to build and maintain cost databases
- Attending pre start and tender review meetings where required
The Ideal Candidate: - Previous experience within groundworks or civil engineering (essential)
- Some exposure to estimating or quantity surveying is advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
- Keen to learn and progress within an estimating team
- Good communication and organisational skills
