I’m currently working with a well established and growing specialist contractor operating across London and the South East, delivering a range of projects within the commercial and residential sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Materials Buyer to join the team.
The Role This is a key position within the business, responsible for managing procurement across multiple live projects.
You will be:
- Managing the end-to-end buying process for construction materials
- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
- Placing orders and ensuring timely delivery to site
- Working closely with Project Managers and site teams across multiple jobs
- Monitoring costs, budgets and supplier performance
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies
The role will involve supporting projects primarily across Central London, with flexibility to work from Essex.

- Proven experience as a Materials Buyer within construction
- Strong knowledge of construction supply chains and materials
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills
- Proactive, organised and able to work in a fast paced environment
