We are working on behalf of a leading groundworks contractor renowned for delivering high-volume residential infrastructure and substructure packages for national housebuilders. With a strong pipeline of work across the Cambridgeshire region, they are looking to strengthen their technical team with the addition of an experienced
Site Engineer.
The Role As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of residential groundwork schemes – including roads, sewers, foundations, and external works. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure accurate setting out, technical control, and smooth coordination of site activities.
Key Responsibilities - Setting out for residential groundwork elements (roads, drainage, foundations, externals)
- Ensuring accuracy of technical drawings and coordinating with project managers and client engineers
- Conducting QA checks and completing site records and as-builts
- Maintaining survey equipment and ensuring calibration standards are met
- Providing technical support to site teams and ensuring construction follows design specifications
- Managing junior/assistant engineers when required
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design or setting out issues
What They’re Looking For - Proven experience in residential groundworks setting out
- Strong understanding of site engineering principles and techniques
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Ability to work across multiple live sites when required
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and reliable attitude to engineering and site coordination
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Desirable - Experience working for groundwork subcontractors on housing developer sites
- SSSTS and valid CSCS (Engineering/Management level)
