Estimator – Groundworks & RC Frame | £50K–£70K Essex We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering high-value groundworks and reinforced concrete frame packages across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects in Essex.
Due to a strong pipeline of work and strategic growth plans, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator with 5+ years of experience in this sector.
Role Overview: - Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for groundwork and RC frame projects up to £20m.
- Produce detailed take-offs and BOQs from drawings and specifications.
- Build up rates using first principles for labour, plant, and materials.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries and analyse quotations.
- Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits, and liaise with clients and internal teams.
- Work closely with the Directors, Quantity Surveyors, and operational teams to hand over secured projects.
What We’re Looking For: - Minimum 5 years’ estimating experience in the groundworks and RC frame sectors.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering techniques and site operations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.
