The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a growing contractor delivering projects across live environments, including schools, healthcare, and occupied buildings.
This is a key role within the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders while understanding the complexities of working in operational, sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions across a range of projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope of works to build accurate pricing
- Assess risks associated with working in live environments and factor into tenders
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
- Analyse and compare subcontractor returns to ensure best value
- Work closely with pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure smooth handover
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and tender interviews where required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Proven experience working on projects in live environments (schools, healthcare, occupied buildings)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and logistics in operational sites
- Experience pricing refurbishment, maintenance, or small works projects
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with internal teams and supply chain
- Based within a 45–60 minute commute of Sevenoaks
