The Role: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, working from their Kent office with a flexible hybrid working setup.
The role will involve taking commercial responsibility for residential developments, managing projects from procurement through to final accounts. The successful candidate will need strong housebuilding experience and previous experience using COINS.
Key Responsibilities - Take commercial responsibility for residential developments from procurement through to final account
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and package negotiations
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cost plans and cash flow forecasts
- Produce accurate CVRs and provide regular commercial reporting
- Assess subcontractor applications and issue payment and payless notices
- Manage variations, valuations and change control throughout the project lifecycle
- Negotiate and agree subcontractor final accounts
- Work closely with the construction and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate actions
- Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and the wider supply chain
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
Requirements - Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Project Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
- Strong housebuilding or residential development experience
- Previous experience using COINS
- Strong understanding of subcontractor procurement and package management
- Experience producing CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
- Strong knowledge of valuations, variations and final account negotiations
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with construction and technical teams
- Based within a reasonable commute of the Kent office
