Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on commercial construction projects in the Sacramento and Stockton regions. This is a growth-oriented role designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in field supervision and site leadership.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day field operations
• Coordinate subcontractors, materials, deliveries, and site logistics
• Enforce project safety protocols and assist in conducting daily safety meetings
• Track project progress and maintain accurate site documentation and reports
• Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, drawings, and codes
• Assist with punch list items, quality control, and job site cleanliness
• Communicate effectively with project managers, trade partners, inspectors, and field personnel
• Help monitor scheduling, manpower, and sequencing to keep projects on track
• Attend inspections and resolve onsite issues promptly with support from the Superintendent

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in field supervision
• Familiarity with California building codes, safety regulations, and inspection processes
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• Strong understanding of construction documents, field reporting, and logistics
• Experience using software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project is a plus
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites throughout Sacramento and Stockton
