Position: Chief Financial Officer
Role Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a pivotal member of our clients executive leadership team, responsible for shaping the company’s financial strategy to support a 10X revenue growth target within 3-5 years. With a strong emphasis on funding and raising capital, the CFO will lead efforts to secure investment, manage financial operations, and ensure fiscal discipline while aligning with their mission to scale BIPV adoption globally. This role requires a strategic financial leader with a proven track record in fundraising and scaling high-growth companies in cleantech or manufacturing.

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial strategy and drive capital-raising efforts to support a 10X revenue increase, scaling our global impact in the cleantech market.
Key Responsibilities
  • Fundraising and Capital Strategy: ○ Develop and execute a comprehensive capital-raising strategy, including venture capital, private equity, debt financing, and government grants, to fund manufacturing expansion, R&D, and global market entry. ○ Build and maintain relationships with investors, venture capitalists, banks, and financial institutions to secure funding rounds (e.g., Series A, B, or beyond). ○ Prepare compelling pitch decks, financial models, and investment memoranda to attract institutional and strategic investors. ○ Negotiate terms for equity and debt financing, balancing growth needs with shareholder value.
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: ○ Design and implement a financial roadmap aligned with our clients10X revenue goal, ensuring scalability and profitability. ○ Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support operational growth and capital-intensive projects. ○ Optimize capital allocation for manufacturing, R&D, and market expansion while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Financial Operations: ○ Manage all financial functions, including accounting, treasury, tax, and compliance, ensuring adherence to Canadian and international regulations. ○ Implement robust financial controls and reporting systems to provide real-time insights to the leadership team. ○ Oversee audits and ensure transparency for investors and stakeholders.
  • Investor Relations: ○ Act as the primary point of contact for investors, providing regular updates on financial performance, growth milestones, and strategic initiatives. ○ Build trust with stakeholders through clear, data-driven communication and a compelling financial narrative.
  • Risk Management: ○ Identify and mitigate financial risks related to currency fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and market volatility. ○ Develop contingency plans to ensure financial stability during economic or industry downturns.
  • Team Leadership: ○ Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and strategic thinking. ○ Collaborate with the CRO, COO, and CTO to align financial strategy with revenue, operations, and innovation goals.
  • M&A and Strategic Partnerships: ○ Evaluate and execute strategic acquisitions or partnerships to accelerate growth, such as acquiring complementary technologies or manufacturing capabilities. ○ Conduct due diligence and structure deals to maximize value and minimize risk.
Qualifications
  • Experience: ○ 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years as a CFO or VP of Finance in a high-growth startup, cleantech, or manufacturing company. ○ Proven success in raising significant capital (e.g., $50M+ in equity or debt) through venture capital, private equity, or other funding sources. ○ Experience scaling a company’s revenue by 5X or more, ideally in renewable energy, solar, or construction sectors. ○ Strong track record in investor relations, financial modeling, and negotiating complex financing deals.
  • Skills: ○ Expertise in fundraising, including crafting pitch materials, valuation analysis, and deal structuring. ○ Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills to support long-term growth. ○ Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) for streamlined operations. ○ Strong understanding of global financial markets, tax incentives, and renewable energy subsidies. ○ Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to engage investors and stakeholders. ○ Strategic mindset with the ability to balance risk and opportunity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: ○ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA designation strongly preferred.
