Position Overview A national construction firm is seeking a
Project Executive with a strong California network to lead its
Data Center division. This senior leadership role is responsible for business development, client relationship management, and oversight of multiple high-profile data center projects across the state. The ideal candidate has proven experience in hyperscale or enterprise data centers and a deep network of contacts in California.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Relations - Build and maintain strategic relationships with owners, developers, and clients in the California data center market.
- Lead pursuit strategies and proposal development for new hyperscale or enterprise data center projects.
- Represent the company in industry events and networking opportunities.
Project Oversight & Leadership - Oversee multiple large-scale data center projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality goals are met.
- Provide executive leadership to Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
- Guide preconstruction, estimating, procurement, and execution strategies.
Financial & Operational Management - Own P&L responsibility for assigned projects or divisions.
- Monitor project performance, cost control, and risk management.
- Drive efficiency and implement best practices across projects.
Team Development & Mentorship - Recruit, develop, and mentor senior project leadership teams.
- Ensure alignment of team goals with company growth strategy and client expectations.
Market Strategy & Networking - Maintain a strong California-based professional network; out-of-state contacts are insufficient for this role.
- Stay current with market trends, emerging technologies, and data center standards.
Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in data center construction, with at least 7+ years in senior executive or project executive roles.
- Proven success leading hyperscale, enterprise, or mission-critical data center projects.
- Strong California-based network in owners, developers, and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large teams, multi-project portfolios, and P&L responsibility.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and business development skills.
