Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled
Electrical Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team. This role is critical in developing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, healthcare, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical construction, with the ability to review drawings, evaluate scopes, and prepare detailed cost proposals for projects ranging from $1M to $50M+.
Key Responsibilities: - Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope of work
- Prepare detailed takeoffs for power, lighting, low voltage, and specialty systems
- Develop labor, material, and subcontractor cost estimates for electrical scopes
- Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to ensure accuracy in estimates
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations as needed
- Support value engineering efforts and recommend cost-saving alternatives
- Track historical cost data and maintain estimating database for continuous improvement
- Ensure timely submission of competitive, accurate, and complete bids
Qualifications: - 5–10 years of experience in electrical estimating (commercial/industrial projects preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC codes, and construction practices
- Proficiency in estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar)
- Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
