Electrical Project Manager – National Traveling Team (Iowa-Based Projects) Location: Project-Based (Current focus: Iowa)

Position Overview A national electrical contractor is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for its traveling project team, currently supporting large-scale projects in Iowa. This role is ideal for a PM experienced in high-budget, fast-paced builds who thrives on complex logistics and large field operations.
This team operates on a travel rotation schedule (extended time on site with scheduled home rotations). Travel allowances provided.
Key Responsibilities Large-Scale Project Management

• Lead electrical scopes on major projects such as data centers, industrial, or mission-critical facilities
• Oversee large field crews and coordinate with national project teams
• Maintain schedule performance in fast-track environments

Financial Oversight

• Manage multimillion-dollar electrical budgets
• Monitor job cost, productivity, and forecasting
• Lead change management and contract compliance

Operational Coordination

• Procure long-lead gear and major equipment
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and GC leadership
• Support commissioning and turnover processes

Leadership & Teamwork

• Collaborate with traveling superintendents and field leaders
• Mentor APMs and field engineers
• Maintain strong client and GC relationships across projects

Qualifications

• 7+ years PM experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor
• Experience on large, complex projects (data center or similar preferred)
• Comfortable in a travel-based role
• Strong cost control and scheduling knowledge
• Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office proficiency
