Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Develop quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, Sage, ProEst).
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure comprehensive coverage and competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and design review sessions.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and owners to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing databases.
- Assist in value engineering, risk analysis, and constructability reviews.
- Prepare and present estimates to internal teams and clients with clear backup and rationale.
- Ensure estimates comply with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial, multifamily, infrastructure
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Procore Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of local subcontractor market and cost trends.
- Estimating certification (e.g., ASPE CPE) a plus.
