Position Overview A leading California general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent with OSHPD-1 healthcare construction experience to support a growing pipeline of hospital and medical facility projects in the Sacramento region. This role will lead field operations on complex healthcare projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule performance in highly regulated environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a builder with a strong healthcare backlog and long-term stability across Northern California.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Execution

• Oversee daily field operations on OSHPD-1 hospital and healthcare projects.
• Manage subcontractors, site logistics, and construction sequencing.
• Develop and maintain detailed short-interval schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Drive schedule performance and ensure milestone targets are achieved.

Healthcare & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with California Department of Health Care Access and Information standards and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain documentation for regulatory approvals.
• Implement and monitor ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM).
• Manage work in active and occupied healthcare environments.

Safety & Quality

• Promote a strong jobsite safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Partner with QA/QC and project management teams to maintain high-quality execution.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively.

Team Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and design teams.
• Interface with owners, facility staff, inspectors, and consultants.
• Mentor assistant superintendents and field staff.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience on OSHPD-1 healthcare projects.
• Strong understanding of California healthcare codes, inspections, and documentation.
• Experience in ground-up and renovation hospital environments.
• Ability to manage complex phasing and infection control in occupied facilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
