Position Overview A leading general contractor in Sacramento is seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator to manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes across commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are accurately coordinated, scheduled, and installed according to design specifications, codes, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities Coordination & Planning
  • Review MEP drawings, submittals, and specifications for constructability and conflicts.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve design and installation issues.
  • Prepare clash detection and coordination models using BIM tools.
  • Assist in sequencing, scheduling, and logistics of MEP work on multiple projects.
Project Support & Oversight
  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with MEP installation planning and oversight.
  • Track progress, report on milestones, and maintain documentation of changes and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Communication & Reporting
  • Facilitate communication between design teams, field crews, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate logs of RFIs, submittals, and coordination notes.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and assist in problem-solving technical challenges.
Quality & Compliance
  • Monitor MEP installations for quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Assist QA/QC teams in inspections and reporting.
  • Ensure MEP work aligns with project budgets and schedules.
Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of experience in MEP coordination on commercial, healthcare, or industrial construction projects.
  • Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM coordination tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards in California.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
