Project Engineer – Commercial Construction Location: Bay Area, CA

Position Overview A well-established general contractor in the Bay Area is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support project management and field teams on commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in construction management while gaining hands-on exposure to all phases of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Project Support & Coordination

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and document control.
• Track procurement logs, material deliveries, and long-lead items.
• Maintain organized project documentation and filing systems.

Scheduling & Cost Support

• Assist with schedule updates and lookahead planning.
• Support change order documentation and cost tracking.
• Help prepare meeting minutes, reports, and project correspondence.

Field & Office Interface

• Coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, architects, and consultants.
• Participate in jobsite walks and progress meetings.
• Ensure drawings, specs, and revisions are distributed to the project team.

Quality & Closeout

• Support quality control documentation and inspections.
• Assist with punch lists, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
• Help ensure compliance with contract requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in construction (internship or full-time PE role).
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience with commercial projects such as office, healthcare, education, life science, or TI is a plus.
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (MS Project a plus).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite at project locations across the Bay Area.
