Project Manager – Commercial Construction Location: Bay Area, CA

Position Overview A respected
general contractor in the Bay Area is seeking an experienced
Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution - Manage projects from award through completion, including planning, buyout, and field coordination.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
- Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure scope clarity and compliance.
- Work closely with superintendents to manage daily operations and project milestones.
Financial & Contract Management - Prepare and track cost reports, monthly billings, and forecasts.
- Manage change orders including pricing, documentation, and negotiation.
- Oversee subcontractor buyout, commitments, and cost control.
- Ensure timely invoicing and collections.
Coordination & Communication - Serve as the main point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Lead OAC meetings, coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Maintain strong communication between field and office teams.
Quality, Safety & Closeout - Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support safety initiatives and enforce company and site safety protocols.
- Oversee punch list, inspections, closeout documentation, and final turnover.
Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor.
- Experience on commercial projects such as office, life science, healthcare, education, mixed-use, or TI.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience working in the Bay Area construction market.
