Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction Location: Sacramento, CA
About the Role:
A well-established general contractor in the Sacramento region is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts across commercial, public works, education, and healthcare sectors. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator who excels in conceptual budgeting, hard bids, GMPs, and delivering accurate takeoffs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead estimating efforts for competitive bids, negotiated work, and design-build pursuits.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and subcontractor comparisons.
• Develop conceptual estimates from limited plans or narratives.
• Manage preconstruction schedules, value-engineering options, and cost-saving strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and clients during preconstruction.
• Support proposal development and present estimates internally and externally.

Qualifications:

• 7–12+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of CSI divisions, plans, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency with estimating software (OST, Bluebeam, Sage, Procore, or similar).
• Ability to evaluate subcontractor scopes and ensure complete bid coverage.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
