Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Project Manager with a strong background in healthcare construction to lead the planning and execution of complex medical facility projects. This role requires expertise in OSHPD/HCAI regulations, a deep understanding of healthcare infrastructure needs, and proven experience delivering projects in active hospital or clinical environments. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who can manage project teams, foster client relationships, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution
- Lead all phases of healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client goals.
- Collaborate with design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with healthcare codes and clinical standards.
- Oversee site logistics, sequencing, and phasing strategies for occupied medical facilities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
- Maintain strong working relationships with hospital leadership, facility managers, and end users.
- Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and proactively manage client expectations.
Regulatory Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure compliance with OSHPD/HCAI regulations, Title 24, and other applicable building codes.
- Coordinate inspections, documentation, and approvals with HCAI field staff and local jurisdictions.
- Work closely with infection control teams and hospital staff to minimize operational disruptions.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor project engineers, assistant PMs, and field personnel.
- Coordinate with Superintendents to maintain construction progress and jobsite safety.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes accountability, quality, and teamwork.
Cost & Risk Management
- Prepare and maintain detailed budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and procurement processes.
- Identify project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of construction experience, with 5+ years in a project management role focused on healthcare facilities.
- Proven experience managing OSHPD/HCAI-regulated projects, renovations in active hospital environments, and medical office buildings.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific MEP systems, infection control, and interim life safety measures (ILSM).
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
