Position Overview A leading general contractor is seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager with multifamily construction experience to lead large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across the Bay Area. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring strong financial performance, schedule adherence, and high-quality delivery.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing
ground-up multifamily projects, including podium, wrap, and mid-rise construction, and thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution - Lead multiple multifamily projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Manage Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and project teams.
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents to align field execution with project goals.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor buyout, and project logistics.
Financial & Cost Management - Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Track job costs, productivity, and financial performance.
- Lead change order pricing, negotiations, and contract administration.
- Ensure projects meet profitability targets.
Scheduling & Delivery - Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain schedule performance.
Client & Stakeholder Management - Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, developers, architects, and consultants.
- Lead OAC meetings and executive-level reporting.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
Preconstruction & Strategy - Participate in estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Support pursuit efforts and assist in winning new multifamily projects.
Team Leadership & Mentorship - Mentor and develop Project Managers, APMs, and project engineers.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and best practices across teams.
Qualifications - 10+ years of experience managing multifamily construction projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential developments ($20M+ preferred).
- Strong knowledge of wood-frame, podium, wrap, or mid-rise construction.
- Experience working with developers and multifamily clients in the Bay Area.
- Excellent leadership, financial management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software.
