Position Overview A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced
Senior Superintendent with multifamily construction experience to lead large-scale residential projects in the North Bay. This role will oversee all field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in
ground-up multifamily construction, managing complex projects with multiple trades and tight schedules.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Project Execution - Lead all onsite construction activities for multifamily projects from groundbreaking through completion.
- Manage superintendents, assistant superintendents, and field staff.
- Coordinate subcontractors and oversee daily jobsite operations.
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
Schedule & Logistics Management - Drive project schedules and ensure milestone targets are achieved.
- Coordinate site logistics, sequencing, and trade coordination on complex residential developments.
- Identify potential delays and proactively implement solutions.
Quality Control - Ensure all construction meets project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct routine site inspections and oversee punch list completion.
- Coordinate closely with QA/QC and project management teams.
Safety Leadership - Promote and enforce a strong jobsite safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory safety standards.
- Lead safety meetings and enforce OSHA guidelines.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination - Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, architects, and ownership groups.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and daily field briefings.
- Mentor and develop junior field staff.
Qualifications - 10+ years of construction experience with significant multifamily project experience.
- Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on ground-up multifamily projects.
- Strong knowledge of wood-frame, podium, or mid-rise residential construction.
- Ability to manage large crews and multiple trades simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
